Laud (USED)

The laúd is a plectrum plucked chordophone from Spain. It belongs to the cittern family of instruments. It has six double courses (i.e. twelve strings in pairs), similarly to the bandurria, but its neck is longer. Traditionally it is used folk string musical groups, together with the guitarand the bandurria.

Like the bandurria, it is tuned in fourths, but its range is 1 octave lower.

Tuning:

• 1st: A (la)
• 2nd: E (mi)
• 3rd: B (si)
• 4th: F# (fa#)
• 5th: C# (do#)
• 6th: G# (sol#)

This instrument is in excellent condition.  We are not sure on its exact age, but it is spanish made, and sounds brilliant.  A rare find.  Please feel free to come and have a look and play.
